Physical Exam or Health Maintenance Visit How often you need a physical exam or health maintenance visit? Every year All adults should visit their health care provider from time to time, even if they are healthy. The purpose of these visits is to:

  • Screen for diseases
  • Assess risk of future medical problems
  • Encourage a healthy lifestyle
  • Update vaccinations
  • Maintain a relationship with a doctor in case of an illness

Even if you feel fine, it is still important to see your health care provider regularly to check for potential problems. Most people who have high blood pressure don't even know it. The only way to find out is to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Likewise, high blood sugar and high cholesterol levels often do not produce any symptoms until the disease becomes advanced.

Women's Health

Routine Gynecologic Care can be performed by the patient's Family Physician or Obstetrician/Gynecologist.

  • Mammography - Every 1 to 2 years for women age 40 to 50 and annually for women over 50 years of age
  • Pap test - All women who are or have been sexually active or who have reached age 18 should have an annual Pap test and pelvic examination. After a woman has had three or more consecutive, satisfactory annual exams with normal findings, the Pap test may be performed less frequently in a low-risk woman at the discretion of her physician. More frequent Pap tests may be required for a woman with high-risk factors (including multiple sex partners, STDs, alcohol or drug abuse, history of cervical, vaginal or vulvar cancer).
  • Pelvic exam - annually when sexually active or by age 18.

Even if you feel fine, it is still important to see your health care provider regularly to check for potential problems.

IMMIGRATION/GREEN CARD PHYSICALS

Individuals applying for citizenship, seeking Permanent Residency, or a Green Card are required to obtain an immigration physical prior to approval of their application. It is mandatory that immigration physicals are completed by a Designated Civil Surgeon (Malireddy Jyothirmayi) so the exam is valid. We do all the necessary testing on site and have most of the required vaccines in our office. Each evaluation includes an examination performed according to the medical guidelines established by the Department Of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services and Centers for Disease Control. The civil surgeon will record the exam results on Form I-693 for the applicant to return to the USCIS (INS). We accept proof of vaccination done elsewhere. We have the ability to provide the physical examination, the blood tests, the skin test for tuberculosis, the vaccinations required to complete the medical part of your application. Included in the Immigration Physical Examination:

  • Physical Examination and completion of all the necessary paperwork
  • Tuberculin (Skin Test) and interpretation

  • $125 for Physical & filing the paperwork
  • $30 for RPR
  • $20 for PPD

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a safe, gentle and FDA approved way to remove unwanted hair permanently. There is no down time and virtually every part of the body can be treated. The laser produces a beam of light which is selectively absorbed by the hair follicles and minimizes damage to the surrounding tissue. The heat damages or destroys the potential for re-growth. Hair follicles grow in phases. Laser hair removal targets those hairs in the active phase of growth. For optimal results, treatments must be repeated 6-8 times depending on the individual and the body area being treated. We are able to treat all skin color light to dark. We currently use one of the safest and most effective lasers for hair removal.

FAQ

How to prepare for your laser treatment?

  • You should be your natural skin color in the area of treatment. No tans or bleech.
  • You should not have waxed, tweezed or used hair removal creams for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
  • You should shave the area the morning or night before your treatment very well!
  • If you are using minocycline, doxycycline or any similar antibiotic you should postpone your treatment by two weeks after stopping the antibiotics. If you are using Retin A or any similar medications please stop two weeks before your treatments.
  • white hairs will not respond to the laser.

Is laser therapy safe?

Yes, if done under the guidance of a trained physician with the proper equipment. The laser beam targets only the hair follicle, essentially sparing the remainder of the skin. This selective technology allows for the high level of safety in this procedure.

Are there any side effects?

You are able to continue with your normal day immediately after treatment. Your skin may appear slightly red after the treatment but is back to normal within a few minutes to hours.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Yes. Once a hair follicle is dead that particular hair will never grow again.

How does the laser work?

The laser specifically targets the pigment in hair follicles. The heat generated from this process safely and permanently disables the hair follicles in the active phase of growth.

How much time does the procedure take?

The time it takes depends on the amount of area being treated. Facial areas such as lip or chin can take as little as 5-10 minutes while full legs or back can take up to one hour or more.

Is laser therapy painful?

At worst, some patients describe a feeling of a rubber band snapping against their skin with laser therapy. Our lasers have a specialized cooling device built in, which makes the procedure much more comfortable.

Why does it take multiple treatments for optimal results for laser hair removal?

Hair has several phases in its life cycle. The laser beam only disables those hairs that are in the active phase of growth. Only a certain percentage of your hair is in the active phase at any given point in time. Therefore, treatments must be repeated at varying time intervals for optimal results.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments vary with the body area and hair type being treated. In general about 6-8 treatments will give excellent results.

Can all skin and hair colors be treated with laser therapy?

All skin colors white to black can be treated. Only pigmented hair can be treated. Blonde and white hairs cannot be effectively treated with laser therapy.

BOTOX AND DYSPORT

Botulinum toxin type A is a physician-administered treatment that can smooth moderate to severe frown lines or wrinkles on various areas of your face temporarily. It is simple, safe, effective and fast for people from 18 to 65 years of age. A 10-minute treatment of a few tiny injections causes a significant improvement in frown lines, crow’s feet or forehead wrinkles within a week and can last up to 4 months or more. The use of our facial muscles over time leads to those frown lines and crow’s feet which are more prominent for some than others. Botulinum toxin type A is a purified protein that reduces the activity of the muscles that cause these frown lines. There is no down time and you can resume your daily activities immediately after the procedure.

Chemical peeling

If your skin is unevenly toned, wrinkled, spotted or scarred, a chemical peel is great way to reveal smoother, younger looking skin. Chemical peels work by using a topical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of skin. They work on dead skin cells. Your skin may be slightly red and peel for a few days after the procedure but it is nothing that some good moisturizer and sunscreen can’t handle. At MALIREDDY MEDISPA we work with a variety of products and customize all peels to suit the patient’s skin type.
